How it works:
neither the sender nor the recipient need to have a bank account
the amount sent is available to the recipient within minutes
cash deposits and withdrawals can mostly be made in the currency of the destination country and/or in USD, in Hungary in HUF, or in USD if money was sent to you from the United States of America, and if you are sending money from Hungary to China or Vietnam
only the sender pays a fee after the money transfer
maximum sending and receiving amount in Hungary at EXC offices: 7,000 USD or the equivalent HUF amount
In Hungary, Western Union services can only be used by individuals over the age of 18
To send cash, you only need your valid identity documents, the amount of money you want to transfer and the sending fee specified in the current tariff.
To withdraw money, the Beneficiary must have the following:
a valid identity document and, in the case of Hungarian citizens, a residential address card is also required
full and exact name of the sender
sending country (from where the transaction was initiated, in the case of USA and Mexico, also the sending state)
10-digit Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN)
knowing the size of the amount transferred
Do everything to ensure the safety of your money, don't fall for scammers!
Don't let people you don't know enlighten you about how the service works, only accept advice from our staff.
Never send money as security for a transaction that is offered to you for some kind of goods purchased on the Internet (vehicle, etc.…).
NEVER give out any (one or more) details of the transfer to a third party.
DO NOT hand over money to an unknown person.
Do not send money if an unknown person asks you to give it to a fictitious recipient, in the name of a relative or friend.
Please read the warning at the top of the form and do not send money in the following cases:
For an emergency of your grandchild, friend or family member that you are not personally aware of
To someone you only met online
Reservation, advance payment for vehicle, technical item
In the case of a promise of a foreign job opportunity
Foreign accommodation option or as a deposit of rent
To collect lottery or other prizes
As the cost of lending money
To pay off a credit card or loan
Buying a pet or other domestic animal
In response to any unsolicited mail sent to you with the promise of a large inheritance or prize
Do not send money to a relative, acquaintance or friend who is not in the destination country.
Please note that the money transferred may be paid out to the recipient in a very short time and you cannot claim a refund from Western Union after the money has been paid, even if the transfer was made as a result of fraud.
